Dear KSD Parents/Guardians:
The KSD Board of Trustees adopted a Student Electronic Device policy on January 14, 2025. This policy is in accordance with the Phone Free Learning Act Executive Order issued by Idaho Governor Brad Little on October 31, 2024.
The policy states that students in grades K-8 will keep their cell phones and other similar devices , turned off and in lockers, backpacks or designated classroom cubbies during school hours.
Students in grades 9-12 will keep their cell phones and other personal devices off and in lockers, backpacks or classroom cubbies during instructional hours, which includes passing periods. For students in grades 9-12, devices may be used before school and during lunch.
Parents/guardians are advised that the best way to get in touch with their child during the school day is by calling the school's main office.
We appreciate your cooperation in promoting student health and safety, preventing distractions to learning, improving academic focus, preventing cyberbullying and fostering responsible technology use.

Happy New Year!!
School resumes Monday, January 6th

Merry Christmas!

Dear Parents/Guardians,
The Kellogg School District Board of Trustees has begun the process of implementing a new policy to promote student health and safety, improve academic focus, and prevent cyberbullying. This policy comes from the "Phone Free Learning Act", an Executive Order issued by Idaho Governor Little on October 31, 2024.
This policy will require students in grades K-8 to keep their personal electronic devices (phones, tablets, smartwatches, etc.) off and stored in their lockers, backpacks, or designated classroom storage areas during the school day. Students in grades 9-12 will be required to keep their devices off and stored during instructional time.
We understand the importance of technology in today’s world, but we believe this policy will create a more focused and positive learning environment for all students.
Please be on the lookout for more information, after the holiday break, as the policy is finalized. We will provide additional details, including specific guidelines and exceptions for students with special needs and emergencies.
Thank you for your support!

Merry Christmas from the Silver Valley Special Services Co-Op Preschool!

Students in Mr. Porth's freshman Physical Science class are working on the Bohr Model of the Atom and are exciting electrons of different metals to see what color they emit when burned. You can see Boron in the ring stand and Barium in the Bunsen burner.
