We're so happy to see so many smiling faces in our classrooms each week! Let's keep those attendance numbers shining bright! A big part of that is staying healthy! Remember to practice those healthy habits – good sleep, nutritious foods, and handwashing are our superheroes against germs! 💪 When our kiddos are feeling their best, they don't miss out on all the fun and learning happening at school. Let's work together to keep our school community healthy and thriving! #ksdstudentsfirst

The 8th grade girls played Kootenai Classical last night, winning 54-6. The girls were led in scoring by Gretah Angle with 26 points, followed by Bailey Schierman with 17, Macie Glindeman with 4, Emma Ruppert with 3, Naomi Miller and Kaitlyn Moe with 2 each, and Zoey Waldo with several steals and rebounds. Congratulations to the 7th grade girls basketball team in their 56 to 7 win last night. Annabell Duncan lead the way with 21 points. Leila Silva had 14 points and Nazomi Dry was the parent’s player of the game with tons of hustle. Rylah Wigan-Gregory did a great job of setting up the offense and moving the ball. The ladies improve their record 6 and 1. The girls next play against Bonners Ferry on Thursday. Good luck!

Please review this important information about our Middle School Ski trips: -Your students' safety is our number one concern. -We ask your students to use the rule of three, meaning they MUST go on runs with two other students in case of an emergency. -Students MUST have an adult with them if they would like to go to chair four. -Students are accompanied by chaperone care on the gondola, both to Silver and back. -All students who attend our field trips MUST take a lesson with a Silver Mountain instructor each trip. If anyone over the age of 18 would like to become a chaperone, please go to the district office for information and fingerprint paperwork. If students do not listen to our safety instructions they will be asked to no longer accompany us on our trips and will NOT be offered a refund for the trips. If you have any questions please contact the KMS office 208-784-1311.

Dear KSD Parents/Guardians: The KSD Board of Trustees adopted a Student Electronic Device policy on January 14, 2025. This policy is in accordance with the Phone Free Learning Act Executive Order issued by Idaho Governor Brad Little on October 31, 2024. The policy states that students in grades K-8 will keep their cell phones and other similar devices , turned off and in lockers, backpacks or designated classroom cubbies during school hours. Students in grades 9-12 will keep their cell phones and other personal devices off and in lockers, backpacks or classroom cubbies during instructional hours, which includes passing periods. For students in grades 9-12, devices may be used before school and during lunch. Parents/guardians are advised that the best way to get in touch with their child during the school day is by calling the school's main office. We appreciate your cooperation in promoting student health and safety, preventing distractions to learning, improving academic focus, preventing cyberbullying and fostering responsible technology use.
