Big volleyball matchup on Tuesday, then Cross Country and Volleyball visit Timberlake.
GO WILDCATS!!

Attendance matters. By 6th grade, absenteeism is one of the three signs that a student may drop out of school. Missing 10 percent, or two days per month, can result in learning loss, missed athletic and social opportunities and disengagement with the school community. #ksdstudentsfirst

Help your young student build relationships, establish healthy routines and safeguard early learning by focusing on regular attendance.
Did you know?: Even one or two absences every two weeks can affect a young learner’s ability to gain reading and math skills and build social relationships. Helping them show up to learn is the best way to give them a solid foundation to build on.

Hello Families! We are pleased to announce a new partnership with WestWind Wellness to support access to behavioral health services for students on our campus. Joshua Westby (a Kellogg native) and his team will be in Kellogg once a week to offer counseling and therapy services to students who have parent/family consent and have been formally enrolled in services. Please note that this is not a general school program and students will only be seen once their families have signed appropriate paperwork and been present for the intake. The goal of this partnership is to allow students who need more mental health support better access to services during school hours to reduce the burden on families and students who would otherwise need to take time away from work and provide transportation. Again, we would like emphasize for any families who might be concerned that your student will not receive services unless you have directly given your consent through an intake. If you have questions or would like to learn more, please reach out to school counselor, Staci Heiser: staci.heiser@kelloggschools.org

National Day
Today is National Skyscraper Day! The world’s first skyscraper was completed in 1885 in Chicago and it stood only 138 feet tall, a mere 10 stories that would not even count as a skyscraper today! Over time, our ability to engineer and construct skyscrapers improved drastically, and now a building must have at least 40 floors to be classified as a skyscraper at all.

Happy Labor Day! Today we honor the dedication of American workers. We appreciate each member of our KSD team who works tirelessly to ensure our students receive the best education. School starts tomorrow!

This is an invitation to all KSD students!
