Busright announcment

Kellogg School District 391 is pleased to share an exciting development that has been in the works for several months. We are preparing to launch a trial of a new initiative that will benefit your students' bus routes.

We have partnered with BusRight, a transportation technology startup, to provide you with real-time updates on your child's school bus route through a user-friendly mobile app. The BusRight app will enable you to:

- Track your child's bus in real-time.

- Receive notifications when the bus starts and completes its route.

- View the expected arrival time at your child’s designated bus stop.

- Access important communications from the Transportation Department.

Invitations to participate in our beta rollout of the app will be sent to your email on October 14, 2024, from support@busright.com with the subject line “You’re invited to BusRight.” This invitation will include a link to create your BusRight account, which will officially launch on the morning of October 16, 2024. Also, attached to the email, you will find a guide to the BusRight app, which includes download links, training videos, and more information.

We are collaborating closely with the BusRight team to ensure the system runs smoothly. We appreciate your patience as we work through any necessary improvements.

Please note that if you log in and see that the bus appears to be offline, this does not mean the route is inactive. This could be due to several reasons:

- The bus has completed its route and returned to the bus lot, where it may be turned off.

- The driver is using a spare vehicle that is not equipped with BusRight’s GPS tracking.

- Technical issues may prevent the GPS tracking system from being online.

- If the route does not appear in your list, it may not be assigned to you in the BusRight system. In that case, please reach out to the Transportation Department at 208-784-0061 or via email at michelle.tryon@kelloggschools.org or lisa.backman@kelloggschools.org.

If you have students on routes not yet launched on BusRight, you may still see their live location, but it may not be accurate until officially activated.
